The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that $42,345 was raised during the 5th Northumberland's Biggest Coffee Morning event. With more than 55 coffee parties held across west Northumberland, guests and their hosts enjoyed laughter and fellowship, while making donations toward the purchase of new medical equipment for the Northumberland Hills Hospital.

This result would not have been possible without an army of supporters, volunteers, sponsors and of course - the very generous attendees.

In the past three years, Northumberland's Biggest Coffee Morning has raised over $263,000 for the hospital.

This year's event was held in honour of Bernice and Angus Read and this success is a great tribute to their dedication and support of the west Northumberland community.

Special thanks to the sponsors of this year's event Sabic Innovative Plastics, Bright Ideas Design, and Cobourg Internet.

On June 8, 2011, we invite you to take part in this easy, fun, sociable way to raise funds for the purchase of new medical equipment for NORTHUMBERLAND HILLS HOSPITAL.

A great excuse to meet up with friends, spend a few minutes with colleagues, family members and neighbours, in a place of your choosing, and invite them to make a donation to the hospital.

This year's Northumberland's Biggest Coffee Morning will be held in memory of Bernice and Angus Read. The Reads believed strongly in helping others and their community. Together they touched the lives of many people through the countless community organizations they were involved with, including St. Peter's Church, Victorian Order of Nurses, Northumberland United Way, St. John's Ambulance, Canadian Cancer Society, Inner Wheel, Sir Sandford Fleming College, Korean Veterans Association, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133, Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club of Cobourg, Royal Military Institute and Northumberland Hills Hospital to name just a few.

Sadly, both Bernice and Angus passed away last fall within weeks of each other.

Organizers of Northumberland's Biggest Coffee Morning have spoken to Bernice and Angus's family and they are very supportive and pleased that this year's coffee morning event will be in their honour.
