Let's all meet for One Big Coffee Morning and make a difference.
On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, we invite you to take part in this easy, fun, sociable way to raise funds for the purchase of new medical equipment for NORTHUMBERLAND HILLS HOSPITAL.
A great excuse to meet up with friends, spend a few minutes with colleagues, family members and neighbours, in a place of your choosing, and invite them to make a donation to the hospital.
This year's Northumberland's Biggest Coffee Morning will be held in memory of Charles (Chuck) Orviss, Nick O'Nians and Hawley Hoselton.
Organizers of Northumberland's Biggest Coffee Morning have spoken to the families of Chuck, Nick and Hawley and they are very supportive and pleased that this year's coffee morning event will be in their honour.
Chuck Orviss
Chuck was a loyal NHH Auxillary volunteer who served this organization well for over the past decade. He was also a long-time member (60 years) of Calvary Baptist Church. Many in the community will fondly remember Chuck from his days of ownership of Cobourg Variety.
A resident of Port Hope, Nick served his community in a multitude of ways including membership in the Cobourg Rotary Club, Sea Cadets of Northumberland Branch, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Northumberland Hills Hospital for the past decade.
" A beloved figure of downtown Cobourg, Hawley was the owner of the popular downtown café and bakery, The Dutch Oven. He was a long-time director on the Public Utility Board and a well-known and respected businessman
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
Do one of the following:
- Organize a coffee morning in your home. All you need is the coffee perking, some cake or cookies and voilà you are ready for your guests when they arrive.
- Suggest a group of you meet at one of the local participating coffee shops.
- Consider holding a party at your church, club or community centre and open it to the public.
- Organize a company coffee break.
- If you operate a coffee shop, restaurant or retail store, contact us to help plan a special event at your store.
Whether your event is small and intimate or on a larger scale, it doesn't matter, because every donation counts.
